10 TREES PLANTED WITH EVERY ORDER
What impact does this have? 10 mangrove trees remove more than 3 tonnes of C02 in their lifetime. So for you, this will help offset some of your daily life.
1. The average carbon emission per capita in France was 6.9 tonnes
2. A return flight from Paris to Los Angeles = 3 tonnes of carbon
3. A car emits between 1.5 and 4.5 tonnes of carbon per year (depending on its fuel efficiency).
Deforestation in a nutshell
Deforestation is the source of many problems. Trees provide a natural habitat for many animal species, help filter water, slow down flooding, limit soil erosion and preserve soil fertility by providing essential nutrients. Soil depletion is a major cause of rural exodus. Farmers are forced to leave their land and find work in the city, in conditions comparable to slavery, in order to survive.
The solution: plant more trees
We have therefore chosen to support EDEN REFORESTATION PROJECTS. The mission of this non-profit association is as much ecological as socio-economic. It reforests the planet by offering fair paid jobs to disadvantaged rural populations.
In ordinary forests, organic matter such as leaves and branches are decomposed and carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. ... "Mangroves are great because they can store three to five times more carbon per hectare than other types of forest
Eden Reforestation Projects
The goal ofEden Reforestation Projects ? To plant at least 500 million trees a year and provide employment for tens of thousands of people in countries affected by extreme poverty, by 2025. So by tomorrow.
The association controls its costs to the point that its reforestation projects are now recognised as the most efficient in the world. While its primary objective is to fight poverty by reforesting the planet, it has also become a model for environmental restoration and land management.
All of Eden Reforestation Projects'reforestation and ecological restoration projects are conducted using a holistic approach:
- The association enters into partnerships with villages committed to restoring their forests.
- It employs and trains local people to plant trees. It reforests with trees native to the land where they are planted.
Villages protect their new forests because they are a source of socio-economic development. Healthy forests are reborn and counter the negative effects of deforestation
- The survival rate of the planted trees is over 80%
- Since its inception in 2004, the association has planted 250 million trees in Ethiopia, Madagascar, Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Emmaüs
We also support the French association Emmaüs, committed to the fight against poverty. We donate every product that is returned to us after being used to Emmaus, to be resold in their shops, or redistributed as part of their social housing projects.
