When choosing a new bed set, there are three things to consider: size, decoration, and most importantly, comfort. When selecting a pillowcase, comfort is the most important factor. Although size and colour should not be neglected, the pillowcase is the central element of your night, so it is necessary not to neglect its softness and to take as much care as possible in choosing its material.
What material should you choose for your 65x65 pillowcase?
The material of your pillowcase must attract all your attention. Today, on the bed linen market, there are all kinds of materials, from the most natural to the most synthetic. However, if you choose a very cheap material, you run the risk of two problems: firstly, your pillowcase may not be very resistant and may quickly become damaged, and secondly, a cheap material becomes rough with each wash. It is best to select a 100% natural, quality material. Pillowcases are most often made of cotton, but there are also linen or even silk. Opting for quality cotton or linen means opting for softness throughout the night.
What size pillowcase should I put a 65x65 pillowcase on?
A 65x65 pillowcase fits into a 65cm by 65cm pillow. These are quite large square pillows that make the bed a real cocoon. Pillowcases are usually closed with an envelope closure: the fabric is folded and sewn to keep the pillow in its cover. Some pillowcases are closed with buttons or a zip, and some have a small flounce, but this does not affect the size.
Maintaining your 50x70 pillowcases
Bed linen should be maintained regularly, it should be washed before the first use, then every 7 to 10 days to keep it fresh and avoid dust mites. If you have chosen a natural fibre: linen or cotton, you can wash your pillowcases at 40°C. This is enough to wash them well and it doesn't damage the fabric fibres. For a material like silk, you should wash at 30°C maximum with a special liquid detergent.
