Duvet cover Liberty
Today, bedding is not just a practical purchase. The print or colours of your duvet cover are designed to participate in the decoration of your bedroom. Your sheets come in all styles, with patterns that follow fashion or remain timeless. Liberty is a pattern covered with small flowers, its spring-like aspect evokes the countryside, femininity and romanticism. The liberty fabric is very popular in the fashion and in the decoration.
Where does the liberty pattern come from?
The name Liberty comes from its creator Arthur Lasenby Liberty. In 1850, this draper's apprentice opened a small shop on Regent Street, in London: Liberty of London. In love with the Orient, he imported and resold decoration: Asian porcelain, Indian fabrics, silks ... His success was such that he was able to buy the neighbouring buildings and enlarge his shop. Later, he decided to bring the production of his fabrics to England, and it was there that he developed his own fabrics, which enjoyed a meteoric rise. It is at this time that the liberty fabric was born: it develops a fine and silky fabric whose reason is distinguished on the face as on the back. But the name Liberty that we know today is a misnomer. At the time, Liberty fabric was used to describe a quality of fabric, not a floral pattern. In the 1960s, after his death, the new directors of Liberty Art Fabrics launched a range of fabrics with floral patterns, riding the wave of flower power at the time. It is surely at this time that the name Liberty started to designate small flowers.

The liberty pattern is regularly used in haute-couture and ready-to-wear collections. It is a feminine pattern, which comes in all colours, sometimes in soft, pastel shades, sometimes in flashy, exotic tones. As with fashion collections, finding a Liberty duvet cover depends on the season. Liberty bed covers are likely to sell better in spring and summer than in winter and autumn. But if you feel like buying a Liberty duvet cover for Christmas, you won't have any trouble finding one because there is so much choice. Most brands offer several models of Liberty duvet cover, whether they are big brands such as IKEA or Conforama, mail order websites such as La Redoute and Les 3 Suisses, or brands specialized in textiles, such as Zara Home, H&M Home ...
