The Snow Queen is the movie that revolutionized the lives of little girls of the years 2000-2010, and maybe a little bit that of their parents... The first episode was released in 2013, the famous song "liberated, delivered" from its soundtrack was a hit, it is sung at the top of their lungs by all children, almost like an anthem. The second episode was released in 2019, highly anticipated by children, and in less than two weeks, the film had already made more than 2 million admissions.
Obviously, such a great success is accompanied by many, many derivative products: from costumes, to dolls, through home accessories, bedroom decorations, and of course bed sets with the effigy of Anna, Elsa, or the cute little Olaf. How did the Snow Queen become an international phenomenon? And where and for how much can you get a Snow Queen duvet cover?
The snow queen phenomenon
There have been almost 150 Disney cartoons released, and they are usually
big hits. But the Snow Queen and the Snow Queen 2, have broken records. There are several factors that can explain this success. First of all, with The Snow Queen, Disney is making its return to the animated musical film, indeed in both Episode 1 and 2, the soundtrack was almost as popular as the films.
Secondly, the duo of characters Anna and Elsa, allows the child to identify sometimes with one and sometimes with the other, it is unusual in films to have two heroines who share the poster. The two complement each other (which is exactly the resolution of film number 2). This duo is explosive, beautiful to see, conveys very beautiful sisterly values.
Elsa has magical powers, and the magic works, it makes children and adults dream. Thanks to her powers, Elsa becomes the perfect mix between a pretty princess and a superhero, an ideal combo!
Finally, there is also the humorous duo of Olaf the Snowman and Sven the Reindeer, which reminds a bit of the duo Timon and Pumba in The Lion King (The Lion King is still ranked before The Snow Queen in terms of cinema admissions). These are some explanations, but success has its secrets, Disney films since Mickey and Minnie, benefit above all from a top artistic direction and a talented team to realize exciting cartoons.
