The history of Bouchara
In 1899, Jacques Bouchara opened his first shop in Marseille, where he and his son Charles sold "fabrics by the mile". Charles and his brothers launched the Bouchara company and continued to open stores throughout France, reaching Paris in 1935. Bouchara's offer diversified with the creation of "le blanc", a special wedding department, and later the "black" department in response to the success of Chanel's little black dress. Then a drapery department for the making of men's suits was created. Over the years, the company conquered new sectors. It is only in 1992 that the brand will start to propose bed linen. Today, the brand is operated by Eurodif, a subsidiary of the Omnium Group which also owns the Burton and Devred brands.
