White duvet covers are the most popular duvet covers in France with 4400 searches on Google per month, followed by blue duvet covers (2400) and grey duvet covers (1900).
White is the favourite colour of the French for their duvet cover
And this seems to be a French specificity, as the British look for grey duvet covers (8100) more than white (6600). Or is it a Catholic specificity? The Spanish and Italians are also in favour of white bed linen.
The month of white
Traditionally, in January, takes place what is called the month of the "white", which would have been the precursor of our current sales. It is Mr Aristide Boucicaut who seems to be at the origin of this event, the boss of the Bon Marché more than 150 years ago. He decided to give discounts on household linen, which was white at the time so that it could be boiled. This operation will become the "Month of White", very visible in all shops and online until today. This notoriety could influence the way we look at bed linen.
Choose a white duvet cover, for an elegant decoration
Tastes and colours are not debatable. We often choose our bed linen according to the trends of the moment, or the decoration of the room. But when it comes to sheets, the colour of your duvet cover can have an influence on your sleep. And if you want to sleep like a cloud, a white duvet cover is an excellent choice. But you can also opt for pastel colours, like sky blue, ora pink duvet cover for example.
Today there is an almost infinite choice when it comes to bed linen. It's tempting to choose a trendy pattern, with lots of harmonious colours, but you might get bored. And as a fashion always passes, you can also choose a plain colour, or even more sober: choose a white duvet cover. And when it comes to interior design, you wouldn't be wrong: a beautiful, bright white bed is synonymous with elegance and refinement. Plus, it will bring light into your room. In other words, choosing a white bedding set means avoiding any lack of taste. You can also decide to mismatch your bedding by buying a white duvet cover and pillowcases of another colour.
Peaceful nights under a white duvet cover
The bedroom is your haven of peace, your protective cocoon. And your bed is the cradle of your intimacy, the place where you must find the peace and quiet necessary for a good night's sleep. To get that well-deserved feeling of relaxation after a long day, it's best to opt for cool colours, like white or off-white. Indeed, colors have an impact on our mood and white tends to relax us.
What material to choose for a white duvet cover
If the sight of a pretty white duvet has soothing qualities, the feeling of softness it gives you when you slip into it is also important! There are white duvet covers to suit all tastes and prices. To choose a quality fabric it is recommended to watch the number of threads per cm3 of fabric. The more threads the fabric contains, the softer and more resistant it will be. Cotton, organic cotton, cotton sateen, hemp, cotton percale, polycotton, linen, cotton flannel ... the choice will be made according to your desires of softness and your budget.
