What is cotton percale?
Cotton percale is made from the raw material of high quality cotton. Although it is often mistaken for a type of cotton, it is actually a method of weaving cotton. Cotton percale is made from the longest fibers of cotton. The high quality and strength of the fabric is due to the way the threads are woven, i.e. very tightly and above all evenly.
What is the difference between cotton and percale?
Cotton, as you already know, is a raw material. It is also thanks to this material that percale can be created. Indeed, percale is different from cotton because it is not a material but a method of weaving.
Does percale wrinkle?
Percale is indeed a fabric that can have creases. Depending on your taste, you may or may not be able to iron it. It is also possible to lay it out properly so that it naturally loses its folds. Ironing can also be a solution, the latter will bring out the colors of the set.
What is the thread count?
Thread count is often emphasized for fabrics made from cotton such as cotton sateen or percale. When you buy a bed linen, it is important to pay attention to the number of threads recommended for the type of fabric you want, and also to be careful about the quality of the threads chosen by the manufacturer. We advise you to choose single threads rather than double or triple threads whose quality often leaves something to be desired. For a light linen, choose our 96 threads per square centimeter percale, guaranteed 100% long fibers. If you want a warmer, denser fabric, you can choose our cotton sateen which has 120 threads per square centimeter, and is guaranteed 100% long fiber.
