The fitted sheet is the element that will protect the mattress, but also bring more comfort to your bed. It is a sheet, sewn at the four corners, to form what is called a bonnet. It is often equipped with elastics to, as its name indicates, act as a cover for the mattress.
Our commitments
What size bed should I put a 90x200 fitted sheet on?
The 90x200 fitted sheet is intended to be affixed to a bed with a 90x200 mattress. This bed is designed to accommodate only one person, it is a single bed. The fitted sheet is intended to be tightly stretched over the mattress. At the four corners of the fitted sheet, there are caps, which are the seams that allow the fitted sheet to be attached to the mattress. These cups also have a size. The standard size for the cups is 30cm, but there are specific fitted sheets with larger or smaller cups.
Buying a 90x200 fitted sheet with the right size cups means that the mattress does not protrude, which is not very aesthetic and, if the mattress is really thick, may prevent the fitted sheet from staying in place.
The 90x200 fitted sheets are used in single beds, traditionally used for children and benefit from 3600 monthly requests on Google, above the shorter version, the 90x190 size with 2900 monthly requests.
The fitted sheet size 120x190 is the XL version of this bed for children with 2900 requests per month. Practical for telling a story!
There are other sizes of bed for children like the 80x200 with 2400 monthly requests or for babies, the fitted sheet 60x120 (2900 requests per month) or fitted sheet 90x140 with 880 monthly requests
This size of fitted sheet is used with a duvet and a duvet cover of size 100x140 for a small child, or 140x200 for a larger child and a good wrap.
Discover the collection of bed linen for children, illustrated by Camille de Cussac: elephants, hedgehogs, horses, and monuments are there for fun bedtimes.
You can also browse our sheets on duvet covers for children with cats, unicorns or other animals.
For a 90x200 crib, it is recommended to use natural or even organic materials, which would avoid allergic reactions that could be caused by some synthetic materials. There are also fitted sheets made of synthetic materials such as polycotton or bamboo viscose. These materials are sometimes of good quality, and sometimes their only advantage is that they are very cheap.
As for the colour, it depends on your tastes and desires: some people prefer light or cold coloured sheets to help them fall asleep, others prefer warm or toned sheets to brighten up the child's bedroom.
