We have a confidence to tell you. We know about the blue light but we don't always resist the call of a good show either. If you're looking for something to wait until the end of seasons 4 of La Casa de Papel and The Handmaid's Tale in 2020, here are the series we're going to be watching oversleep and have a good time tonight when school starts.
At first glance, we went back in time. It looks like the Victorian era, but we didn't know that fairies and fauns existed then. After checking, it all makes sense: Carnival Row is a fantastic show. Welcome to a world where human beings are living side by side with mythological creatures with increasing difficulty (not to say oppression). A series of murders weakens their understanding and leads detective Rycroft Philostrate, in whose skin Orlando Bloom has slipped, and the fairy Vignette Stonemoss, played by Cara Delevingne, to lead the investigation.
Released August 30, 2019 on Prime Video.
BAUHAUS - A NEW TIME
The Bauhaus is more than just a style of fonts with often rounded shapes and posters in primary colours. This school of architecture and applied arts, and the artistic movement to which it gave its name, had a lasting impact on the 20th century. Among the teachers are Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee and Vassily Kandinsky. Walter Gropius, its founder, wants to create "the construction of the future", one that brings together the artist and the craftsman, and all the arts together. This revolutionary vision confronted the conservative ideas that dominated the young Weimar Republic. Arte celebrates the centenary of the school's foundation with a 6-episode series that won an award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. She leads us in the footsteps of one of the first female students to join the Bauhaus, a name we haven't heard the last of it.
Released on September 5, 2019 on Arte.
Going behind the scenes of history is the promise of any good spy series. A genre well known to director Gideon Raff, who signed Homeland or Prisoners of War. In his new series, The SpyIt tells the true story of Eli Cohen, an Israeli spy charged with infiltrating Syria's highest military and political spheres between 1961 and 1965. Among other things, he collected maps and information that will prove crucial in Israel's victory over its neighbors in the Six Day War. In spite of the tension which invades us during the 6 episodes, we refrain from going to google his name to make the suspense last until the end. Is it too late? We can still be surprised by the performance of Sacha Baron Cohen, a thousand miles away from his character in Borat.
Released on September 7 on OCS.
Unbelievable that means incredible. Like the rape charge that Marie, an American teenager, came in to file. She tells the facts, then she hesitates. Faced with her doubts and in the absence of evidence, the police refuse to believe her. Until Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall, played by Toni Collette and Meritt Wever, took a similar case. This story is based on real facts, told by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong in an article entitled An Unbelievable Story of Rape (An incredible story of rape), awarded the Pulitzer Prize. The 8 episodes of the series captivate and question the questioning of the speech of rape and sexual assault victims.
Released September 13, 2019 on Netflix.
Payton Hobart's known since he was seven years old. One day he will be President of the United States. A few years later, this wealthy student from St. Sebastian High School in Santa Barbara, California, began campaigning for election as student body president, a necessary step to gain admission to Harvard University and get closer to his dream. From scandals to politically correct speeches, not forgetting the low blows between opponents, The Politician has all the ingredients for a full-scale, high school-wide election campaign. In production are Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who produced the series... Glee. Needless to say, he is eagerly awaited.

Love isn't reserved for February. It is thus in October that we will be able to discover the season 1 of Modern Love. As its name suggests, it will be about love in the 21st century, but above all about love in the broadest sense: romance, sex, platonism, family ties and self-love are on the agenda. Each episode presents a unique story, inspired by the "Modern Love" chronicle of the New York Times. Concerning the casting, the atmosphere is at the reunion in the school yard. Over the course of the 8 episodes, we can meet Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) or John Slattery (but yes, Roger Sterling in Mad Men).
Released October 18, 2019 on Prime Video.
